Today, around 900,000 people in the UK live with dementia, a number expected to reach 1.6 million by 2040. The condition affects not only those diagnosed, but also their families, carers and communities. It currently costs the UK £34.7 billion a year, most of which falls on those living with the condition and their loved ones. Without action, this is expected to rise to £94.1 billion within 15 years.
Alzheimer’s Society plays a crucial role in providing help and hope, from frontline services to shaping policy. We’re pleased our donation will be used where it’s needed most, whether supporting someone newly diagnosed or advancing research that could change lives.
