Massive interest in Tower House scheme

“The best site in a long, long time” is how estate agent Graig Robertson describes T A Fisher’s Tower House development in Mortimer.

Mr Robertson, director at David Cliff estate agent, says the diverse mix of 17 homes, ranging from two bedroom apartments to five bedroom detached houses, has attracted well over 100 enquiries since the T A Fisher board went up on site.

He said Mortimer is already much sought-after but Tower House offers a rare combination of easy access to all the essential services along with a wide mix of properties in a village with precious little development.

He said: “From my point of view this is the best site I have seen for a long, long time. There really is something for everyone; first time buyers, upsizers and also downsizers who are moving from bigger houses but want to stay in Mortimer.

“You tend to find once people come to Mortimer they want to stay. People aspire to come here from the surrounding villages.

“Mortimer is still what you call a proper village. You’ve got everything for day-to-day living and you don’t generally have to get the car out which is quite nice.

“It’s a good family area. There’s a really big community here, there’s always lots going on. It’s a really good village.”

As well as shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a large Post Office and the Horse & Groom pub, popular for its food, the site offers easy access to the railway station, countryside walks and is almost directly opposite Mortimer Common.

There is also good transport access to Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke.

Mr Robertson said David Cliff’s Mortimer office handles enquiries about Tower House on a daily basis. The site is due for completion in November.
